Tour de Prosser

I had yesterday off so I took advantage of the daylight and went on a little 30 miler. It was still a little cold (38) but I now have a nice windbreaker/rain coat thanks to our trip to California. I wore my Garmin 305 watch so I could download info like my pace, speed, elevation, grade, heart rate, etc. Here is a screen shot of the map around Prosser I took. It was fun getting outside again but I forgot how the smallest amount of wind feels like a hurricane pushing against you.

Scene of the crime?

After the Prologue (sat) we walked around the city waiting for the crowds to leave and also checking out bicycle shops. We came across this little Astana rig parked in a alley next to the hotel the team was staying at. Apparently someones bike(s) was taken from a team Astana van in an alley next to the hotel.

Levi Leipheimer (2nd), and Michael Rogers (3rd)

Lance Armstrong (in the front of this group) and others in the first group behind the three leaders coming to the finish line.

I stole the below picture from Denelle's blog (thanks). Lots of Linds and one of me. We had a great weekend and hardly even noticed the horrible, nasty, crapy weather.

Womens Criterium

On Sunday we went to Santa Rosa to watch the tour come into town after they rode 107 miles in pure hell. It was gusting 60 mph and raining non stop. We got to Santa Rosa early to watch the womens crit race. It was pretty crazy watching these lovely ladies rip around the corners when there was standing water on the road. Winner was Emilia Fahlin, from team columbia highland.

Here is the Governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger on the left and Patrick Dempsey on the right during the jersey ceremony after the prologue.

Bike weekend

Ok, this is a cycling weekend so yes you will see alot of bike stuff. Today we got into Sacramento in the afternoon and checked into the hotel and then used the blackberry's GPS to find alot of bike stores. It was a great weekend to purchase bike stuff because Performance Bikes had a Presidents Day Sale going on. They have two stores less than 10 miles apart from each other.
We have seen alot of team cars and motorhomes in the area. More to come.

WOW

I don't know what to say about this rig. None of us could speak after seeing this, too busy laughing. This guy apparently is a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan. YOU GO BOY

Tour of California

Mark Cavendish winner of four stages of the 2008 Tour de France. This was the bike he rode. Notice the similarities to my bike. Ok, there both Giants. I'm sure we will be seeing Mr. Cavendish in the front of the pack soon.

What is that?

That is Aaron and Missy's motor out of their dishwasher. I spent the night at their house so we could leave early to fly out of Portland to head down to Sacramento, Ca to watch the Tour of California. Aaron said his dishwasher was making noises so I (we) ended up pulling the motor out. Were hoping to find one in Cal so we can install it Monday when we get back from California.

I got tagged (by Karen, kinda)

On Karens blog she challenged everyone to go to their, "my pictures" and go to the fourth folder and open the fourth picture. Well here it is. Its a picture of Scott driving on Rick's racing game. We were all over at Rick and Karen's house for new years.
