Bolt

The kids and I went to the movie theatre yesterday to see Bolt. The kids really enjoyed it and they actually stayed in their seats the whole time. I guess a large tub of popcorn, candy, and pop had a calming effect on them.

Huntin Ducks

We are out at Whitcomb island trying to do some duck hunting. Its been very quite so far this morning, like no shots. There are a thousands ducks sitting in the middle of the river.

Poker Night

Had a relaxing evening of playing poker online at Full Tilt Poker. Thought I would play four tournaments at once. Each tournament was 90 players. The best I finished was 9th. Oh well, guess I won't be going pro anytime soon.

What's wrong with this picture?

I don't know what's wrong with it because its too dark to see anything. Its pitch black when I leave the house for work and its pitch black when I come home. I have to admit I hate this time of year for that reason. Its a great time of year to have indoor projects, like bathroom remodels......

Prosser Mustangs

The family went to the Tri-Cities to Lampson Stadium to watch the Mustangs (11-0) take on the Othello Huskies (10-1). It was a great game to watch. Mustangs were down by a touchdown going into halftime.
Prosser was up by 5 with about 3 minutes left and Othello made it down to the Mustangs 15 yard line with about 30 seconds to go, but luckily Prosser intercepted the ball to win the game. Final score was 33 to 28.
With my vast footbal knowledge I recognized the above play (pic) as the two wide out double shuffle pumper "I" formation. Its a really common play that I would have ran in that situation. I wish I was a football coach........

Dobie making friends with his new family

$1.99 a gallon

I love it, less than a month and gas prices have fallen a dollar a gallon. I posted about the $2.95 price on October 21st.

New Member of the Family

Well we figured it was time to add another pet to the family. The kids love Drake but this one is a little lighter for them to have on their laps by about 90 pounds. As of today, his name is Dobie, but that could change. He is a min pin (miniature pinscher) and will be about 10 pounds when grown. I put him on the scale today and he is currently 5 pounds at 10 weeks old. We went to Petco and bought this little guy all the essentials. Can't wait for tonight when he's in his crate for the first time, and all that other stuff that comes with having a puppy.

BMW 328i broken thermostat

For the last week or so I noticed my car not getting to its normal water temperature position on the gauge. Sometimes it would get there if I was not moving or driving at slower speeds. As soon as I drove faster or coasted down a hill the temp would fall way below its normal position. I figured it was a stuck t-stat, but ended up being a broken one instead.

4 hour desk overhaul

I have been looking for a desk to put in the office for a few weeks. M has hers but I needed one for all my junk that I stash on the kitchen counter. I found this one on craigslist for $10. Its just crap wood with wood laminate covering. It looks pretty good in the picture but not so much up close. Bought $20 of spray paint at Home Depot and 4 hours later it was sanded, painted, cleared, and a scrap piece of laminate from the kitchen installed. I'm kinda tripping right now, I think I'm coming off a paint/glue high.

Time for new Rubber

I think I have gotten my money out of these tires. They are pretty much down to slicks and showing a little cord on the insides. I hate buying new tires so I put it off as long as I could. This morning we had a good rain shower on the way to work. I was caught off guard when the cars traction control light lit up and the back end kicked out from under me a little while I was driving down the highway.

So needless to say I'm glad I ordered new tires a few days ago. I thought I would try buying tires online this time. I bought these Kumho Ecsta tires from TIRERACK.com. Now I just have to take them somewhere to get mounted and balanced.

Toyota Corolla starter issues

Last night went down to Hermiston to help Aaron and Ethan work on E's car. The last time E drove it apparently the starter was engaging the whole time. Even when he stopped and turned off the car and removed the keys, the starter was still turning over.

A & E had done a lot of the hard work on Sunday before I came down. On the picture you will notice the shiny part sitting on the intake. That's part of the internals of the starter. All I can say is that these guys bring a smile to my face. That's all I'm going to say about that because E has been known to pick guys up and throw them around.

I checked and made sure it wasn't the starter relay or ignition switch, so decided it was just a bad starter solenoid. We replaced the starter using old school methods, jacks, flashlights, crawling on back, etc. Have I mentioned I love having my shop and lift, I'm definitely spoiled. With everything put back together (even the core, that's another story) we had to jump start the car because battery was soooo dead. I checked and it had 0.07 volts. Anyways, its good to go, possibly have to buy a new battery but it might charge back up.

Trick or Treat

The kids had a good time trick or treating last night. They went to a couple neighborhoods around town. We met up with Karen, Kaitlyn and Trace and finished at Dave and Sue's house. Towards the end the kids were getting a little tired.
I was disappointed, I looked thru the kids candy but only found one almond joy.

No I didn't go out in my costume. It has been a few years since I had put on my drivers suit (it was a little snug the last time I wore it) and wanted to see if it would finally fit again. It was a big goal of mine to be able to fit into it again.
