Where did the time go?

It seems like yesterday that we had a Prim Rib lunch at work before the holidays. I helped make 19 pounds of prime rib in these two rotisseries for 9 people. I have never cooked prime rib before, but these things were great, all you had to do is "set it and forget it". Lots of good food and desserts to start the holiday season.

I'm not a big prime rib guy, but did enjoy the Christmas dinner at our house. M (Michelle) cooked a couple turkeys, which turned out great once again.

Got my other race chair finished, and it had alot of seat time from friends and family that came over to the house. It was great to see Anders tear up the tracks. He actually beat his dad and myself on several occasions.

Just seems like yesterday that we set up our first fake tree. We have had a real tree for years and then we decided to go artificial this year. We like it, I will probably leave it up till June or July.

We had alot of Snow and cold temperatures, we definitely had a White Christmas. I cant believe I didnt take any pictures of all of it. Now I look out into the backyard and see nothing but green (and cows). It does feel great to be back in the 40's again. It actually feels comfortable going outside in a t-shirt.

We enjoyed being with family and friends this Christmas and I guess thats what happens, time just fly's by..................

Kole meets Santa

Kole was happy to tell Santa what he wanted for Christmas. Of course Kendall chickened out at the last second. I wanted to grab her and throw her on Santa's lap, but didn't want to be nominated for father of the year.

Cold Run

Today I braved the sub 10 degree weather and ran the 30Th annual Cable Bridge Run. I ran the 5k and opted out of the 10k due to the fact that I did not want to subject myself to any extra frostbite. Of course there were a couple freaks out there wearing shorts and one ran shirtless, unfortunately it was a dude.

3oth Cable Bridge Run Results

I did not run as well as I wanted, I think it had alot to do with the cold weather and the fact that half the course was ran on compacted snow and ice. I thought for sure I was going to fall multiple times. I ended up running the 5k in 21:00, which averages out to a 6:46 pace. I was hoping to run a 6:18 ish pace, but was not going to happen in this weather. Oh well, they served ice cold beer after the race so it was well worth it.

This Sucks or Blows

The weather the last couple of days to say the least, has sucked. Its to darn cold then add the wind chill to it. On the way to work this morning it was cold again and my fan in my car was not working. It has never had any issues before so I don't know what's up with that. I just cranked up the heated seats and called it good. The fan finally started up when I was half way to work. Here is the 7 day forecast, more of the same, COLD.

Duck Hunting

Dan and I went out this morning and sat around and B.S.'ed. While we were doing that the only group of ducks came flying right over our heads. Anyways it was very quite day as far as shooting.

Drake ended up getting his own duck. He found this duck on his own and it was not one that we had shot at. It must have been wounded and landed in the pond the day before and just hid in the weeds. He chased it up and down the edge of the water as it was diving under water trying to get away. I went over to watch and lend a hand or handfull of 2 shot if needed.

Big screen

Went over to Scott and Kristins house to help Scott install his new projector. He and his dad had installed the 110" motorized screen. Scott had built a shelf for the projector to sit on as well as a shelf to hide the screen. They both turned out very nice. I just helped run the cables to the projector. I like the first picture that shows the TINY LITTLE flat panel TV in the corner. I dont know what size it is but looks tiny compared to the new HUGE screen.

Scott got the same projector as I have, its a Panasonic PT-AX200U. I really like mine because you can watch a movie or play PS3 games in a room that is lit. This projector has 2000 lumens so you can get a good picture even if the lights are on or light is coming in the windows. Some projectors have to have a dark room to get a decent picture.

Chevy lumina Thermostat replacement

Randy came down this morning so we could change out his t-stat. His car wasn't warming up or would take forever to get warm. We ended up having to remove all the airbox and remove the exhaust crossover pipe along with whatever else was in the way. I think all-data showed a little over two hours for t-stat replacement. Anyways, no problems, got it all put back together and the water gauge went back to its normal position.
The first picture is an action photo of Randy about to bust his knuckles. I just happen to catch it at the right time.

New Racing wheel

I went to Goodwill today looking for some new (or gently used) underwear. I usually go and check for new arrivals weekly. Anyways, I unfortunately did not find any but did find a used Logitech racing wheel, similar to my other one. I was just about to buy one this weekend that I found for $50 dollars off.

I looked at the Goodwill price ($5.50) and could not believe it. Even if this thing didn't work I was going to buy it. I brought it hope and plugged it in and played a quick game, everything worked.

So needless to say I am in the process of building another racing simulator. This one I am going to put more adjustments into it so the kids can race against me.

December ATV ride

BURRRRRRR

Vegas here they come

M. has been gone to Arizona for a few days so I thought I'd take the kids to the local casino to try and make a few bucks. They ended up making enough for a Happy Meal but they had to split it. Times are tough.

Lighted Christmas Parade

We went to the Lighted Christmas Parade in Sunnyside tonight. Here are a few pics of the floats. Every year it gets bigger, I think there were about 60 lighted rigs.

This guy didnt seem too happy that I was taking a picture when the cops arrived. I'm sure hes a real nice guy but seemed alittle nervous when the cops were around.

Blackberry Storm Review

My contract with Sprint was up so I thought I would try another cell provider and decided to try Verizon. I went with them because they are the only carrier that has the new BB Storm. I kept my account with Sprint and held onto my BB curve just in case.
I work out in a secluded area and was worried that Verizon would not provide ample coverage. The coverage map on their web site showed good coverage but not their best. Once I got the Storm all set up I brought it to work and sure enough, I did not have any reception in certain areas. I currently get Sprints high speed 1XEV everywhere at work, so I can't complain.

I was able to return the phone to Verizon no questions asked, they didn't even open the box to see if the phone was in there.

The touch screen was nice, but was going to take some time to get use to when typing. The curve is much easier to type with one hand, say if your driving or riding your bike.

The Storm has a 3.2 mp camera and I hated it. My curve has a 2 mp camera and it took better pictures in my opinion. Also when I take a picture with the Curve, its instant. With the Storm it has a auto focus and would take what seemed like a few seconds by the time you click the button. I take a lot of pics on the fly and the storm could not capture these pictures, they would just come out blurry.

With Verizon you also have to pay extra if you want to use the GPS features that the phone has. Sprint provides this service for no extra charge.

Don't get me wrong, the Storm is a cool phone with lots of bells and whistles and I think its a great phone for people that want the latest and greatest.

I know its not an exciting post but thought it might help someone who is looking for a new BlackBerry.

The Storm all boxed up ready to go back. Goodbye my friend..............

Nice view

Just a quick pic of the sun setting on my drive home today.
