Flat tire

This has only been my second flat tire since I've started cycling. This one happened almost instantly. I looked down at the front tire because something felt odd. It appeared to be fine and then in about 2 seconds I was riding on the rim. Glad this doesn't happen coming down Patterson hill.

Boring Sunday afternoon

The bikes look good on the rack or at Starbucks. Missy, Aaron, Garth and I had a little training (a brick, I believe they call it) afternoon in Pasco to get ready for "The Fiasco in Pasco" duathlon http://www.3rrr.org/?f=4002&activityId=388 . It was the first time out on the new bike. It was a lot of fun to ride at 23 to 25 mph without much effort. We all ended up running the 3.1 mile course and then the 18 mile bike and one more 3.1 mile run. I think Missy loved her new bike so much that she rode about 30 miles. Oh Yea, forgot to mention, Coaches were there, big deal.

Smile

Some call him "white tooth". On account of all his front upper teeth are capped. We call him our son. (Top Gear, some of you will get it). Let's just say Kole had a rough saturday. Get use to this new look, he will have it for at least a couple years.

Latest additions to the Family

LETS RIDE

BMW 540i

Did a few little upgrades to a co-workers car today. Installed new exhaust, cold air intake, front spoiler, fog lights and headlight bulbs. The exhaust was easy but just needed a little help as to how they wanted the muffler hangers installed. The instructions were no good because they were written in German. The spoiler took the longest but turned out good.

Happy Easter

All the kids had a good time finding and eating eggs.

The Rage in Sage Duathlon

Last Saturday I had my first duathlon. Except it wasn't with my rode bike, this was a mountain bike duathlon. I busted out the 1991 mountain bike from the shop and gave it a try. Let's just say that my bikes suspension was lacking (it has none). Most all of the others had full suspension. And I could definitely feel every little bump thru my teeth.

The first picture was of some participants stretching a few seconds before the race started. That's me in the center, head down praying. The eventual winner (#5) was standing next to me pretending he was not a little nervous that he had to race against me.

The actual race went ok. I stuck to my plan, at first. I ran the first 2.5 miles fine, got on the bike and passed a few people, then started the second run and my legs would not go. I got passed by a few people. My heart rate for the day averaged 180 beats but was over 190 a few times. I swore to my self (and out loud) that I would not do this again while I was running the 2nd leg. I ended up 13th overall. I can't wait for the next one.

M&M and all the kids came out to watch, of course my coaches were no where to be found once again.

Here's the results http://www.3rrr.org/?f=2003&eventId=1027

3-2-1 Blast Off

Sure, go ahead and press the button, I think its clear.

Got the kids a rocket with six motors and we went out to a huge open field. Good thing Kris brought a dirt bike because a couple times the rocket ended up a few miles away. We managed to get four launches before it came to rest up in a tree.

Cancun vacation

Good times in Cancun. It was only for a couple nights but was fun to get away. My brother surprised us with a upgrade to first class on our flights, so that made the trip even better. The weather was warm but windy. We met and saw some interesting people during our trip. We got back to Texas on Friday and our kids didn't even want to go to the airport to see us. I guess they didn't miss us to much. Its good to be back in the U.S.

I can't help it

Tattoos are not for everyone!!!!!! This weekend I saw some very nice tattoos on people and some not so nice ones.
